Louisa has helped me turn an idea into reality. I wanted a "mother-of-the-bride" outfit that was stunning, dramatic as well as comfortable. A tall order but she listened patiently, offering helpful suggestions and practical solutions.

Wedding dress alteration, silk maternity bridesmaid dress and "Argentine Tango" dress
I bought a beautiful wedding dress on Ebay. Unfortunately it was a very tight fit and because it had a zip back there was no room for expansion. Louisa took the zip out and adeptly created a beautifully matched corset back. The dress was then, not only stunning, but a joy to wear!! And there's more !!!
Louisa made the most gorgeous purple silk bridesmaid dress for my daughter who was eight and a half months pregnant on my wedding day !! The dress fitted perfectly and was very flattering. She looked and felt as beautiful and special as I did.
I wanted a bespoke Argentinian tango dress to wear for the first dance at my wedding. Louisa expertly created exactly what I had in my imagination. It was very sexy but real class too. Absolutely amazing dress Louisa, thank you so much. xx

Christening gown created from a wedding dress (embroidered marigolds and name details)
We really can't thank you enough for the most beautiful Christening gown you created for our 8 month old daughter.
When I first came to you and told you that I wanted to make my daughter's Christening dress from my wedding dress I didn't have a clue where to start, what I wanted or if it would be even possible. You really do go way beyond my expectations of a dressmaker with your passion and help from beginning to end. Nothing ever seemed too much bother for you and the time you spent with me over the weeks with your great ideas and the endless changes I kept making to the dress is just priceless!!
I hope you enjoyed making the dress as much as I enjoyed working with you throughout the whole project as you were always so accommodating to me and Sienna during our many visits!
The end result was just perfect with all of our guests commenting on Sienna's Christening dress and I know it was extra special to my husband and I as it was made from my wedding dress but it really is the most beautiful Christening gown we have ever seen and made with such perfection.
I have attached a photo of my wedding dress and of Sienna's Christening gown as it really is amazing to see what you achieved and just to see how beautiful the end result was!!

I have always loved clothes and have a wardrobe full of them to prove it!
Having lost weight and dropped a dress size, I needed to find a good dressmaker to alter various dresses, trousers and jackets; I found one! Louisa of Sew Chic Creations has over the last few months updated my wardrobe; from hems shortened, trousers taken in, to dresses completely refashioned! Not only is Louisa a delightful person, she is extremely good at her job and I cannot recommend her highly enough. I still have a wardrobe full of clothes, but now I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I can wear!Jane Mulholland - July 2011
1940's vintage afternoon dress
I just wanted to write and thank you for helping to make my 50th Birthday Party extra special!
When you were recommended as a dressmaker I was hopeful that together we may be able to achieve something close to what I had in mind for my party dress, but the finished garment surpassed all expectations and the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable.
Right from the very first consultation I felt confident that you completely understood what I had in mind, and throughout the entire process you were very professional but at the same time lovely to work with and very reassuring at every stage.
Your dressmaking skills are outstanding, managing as you did to cope with a vintage pattern with very little in the way of written instructions. You were able to advise me on fabric choices and even adapt the pattern to suit my own requirements. The end result was a beautifully comfortable and well-fitting dress that was a dream to wear. I felt graceful and demure, the perfect look for a Summer Garden Party, and so many friends and relatives paid compliments about how I looked.
I have already worn the dress again to an informal Summer Concert, and I know it will become one of my favourite Summer wardrobe garments.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you to anyone looking for something to wear for a special occasion, and I am sure that now I have discovered what a treasure you are I will be asking for your help in the near future!

From the first point of contact, Louisa becomes involved in the process of steering her clients towards the creation of their dreams, researching patterns and fabrics and putting forward her suggestions. She shows patience and expertise at every step of the way and the many letters and cards decorating her workshop are testament to her craftsmanship. I was so confident in her evident skill that I got her to make me two dresses instead of one, and she has created two really classy, beautifully finished items. I can't imagine a more professional, reliable, patient and talented dressmaker, and I heartily recommend her.

Buckingham Palace 1950's replica dress
I first met Louisa when I made the mistake of buying an original 1950s dress that was too small for me! Excited, I ran home from the vintage shop to try on the dress straight away, but as I reached behind my back to pull the zip I heard a horrible rip. My mum spotted Louisa’s advert in the BN5 magazine, and took the dress to her. Within a week Louisa had repaired the frayed seam perfectly, so well it looked better than the original. But when I reached up to hug a tall cousin at my nephew’s christening, the old fabric gave in and tore along the shoulder. Louisa suggested that rather than repair the dress that was obviously too small, she could make me another one – that fitted me – if I was willing to sacrifice the original. Having seen what a great job she’d done of the mending, I agreed, and she began to make my new, custom-made, ‘vintage’ dress. My father was due to receive an OBE from the Queen, so we decided that this would be the dress I would wear to Buckingham Palace.
After a thorough consultation when we discussed every aspect of the dress – what I loved about the original, what she could do to make it more suited to my body shape – Louisa began work on the toile. Her perfectionism was evident even at this stage. When she was certain I was completely happy with the template, she began to make the dress using the fabric she’d helped me choose. The final result was perfect, exactly as we’d discussed but finished with fine detail and immaculate stitching. The dress had all the shape and flattering features of the original, but she’d cut and lined it to give me lots of room so there was no chance of rips!
Louisa is a complete professional and a perfectionist who makes dress fittings feel like a treat. The dress she made for me makes me feel wonderful. It fits perfectly, and she knows exactly how to flatter your best features and hide the bits you’re less happy with.
My Mum was still looking for an outfit to wear for the OBE ceremony. When my Mum saw how well my toile was coming along, she decided to approach Louisa and ask her to make her own outfit for the OBE ceremony. Louisa made a beautiful silk camisole and jacket for her, using a magazine photograph for the basic styling, but customising it for my Mum. Both of us went to the palace in Louisa’s clothes, and we both couldn’t have been happier with what we were wearing. Louisa was a fantastic find, and I will undoubtedly be returning to her for more.

10th Wedding anniversary
Thank you so much for making my celebrations so wonderful. The 10th anniversary party went smoothly and my dress was a great success. Pete loved it and the children said I looked like a princess. It was a real journey for me to wear my wedding dress again and I felt every bit as special as the first time. I have new friends since having the children so it was lovely for them to see what I looked like all those years ago. We had a disco and I was the belle of the ball when the dirty dancing songs came on as my dress did what hers did in the film.
I had so much fun - thank you for all of your ideas and patience. I wish you well in your business and hope our paths cross again
